About the guest
Marta Francesca Belcher is an American blockchain attorney who has been hailed as a pioneer in her area of expertise. A graduate of Stanford Law School, Belcher is the president of Filecoin Foundation, serves on the general counsel of Protocol Labs, and on the special counsel of the Electronic Frontier Foundation.
During her career, Belcher has spoken about blockchain law at the World Economic Forum, she has testified before the New York Senate, and spoken at the European Parliament. In 2018, she was recognized by the Financial Times’ Innovative Lawyer Awards for her work with the first blockchain transferable license and again in 2019 for her achievements on Protocol Labs’ Permissive License Stack. Last year, she also received the Women’s Entrepreneurship Day Organization’s award for Web3 Pioneer at the United Nations.
